Repairing and preserving often includes creating a new part, but our wood craftsmanship skills do not end there. We create custom builds as well using old world techniques like different types of joinery, all done by hand. We have experience in rustic, primitive, and modern styles. Small intricate side pieces to large functional furniture can be created, using as little power tools as possible. Custom collaboration is also available.

To refinish a heirloom, we first take the piece back to original, raw sub-straight, then prep it with either sanding or stripping. Next we build it back up layer-by-layer with primers, sealers, stain or paint and protection layers to shield the wood from future damage. The finish possibilities are endless. We often refinish pieces after repairing a damaged part, but refinishing can be done if the coatings are aged and its lost its character, or the customer is wanting a new look.

With 28 years of experience, we have proficiency with all types of coatings or finishes; water-based, lacquer, polyurethanes, conversion varnish, auto and marine coatings. Custom matched stains and paints in all mediums is a specialty of ours and we can match any stain or paint color.
